What areas do you serve?
We are based in Greenwood, South Carolina and handle routine tree work within about 50 miles: Greenwood, Ninety Six, Ware Shoals, Hodges, Waterloo, Abbeville, Due West, Laurens, Clinton, Newberry, Saluda, McCormick and Edgefield. Storm response and longer subcontracts take us across the Southeast.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Lakelands Tree Care & Removal LLC carries general liability insurance and will provide a certificate of insurance on request before any work starts.
Is an ISA Certified Arborist involved in the work?
Yes. Lakelands is led by ISA Certified Arborist® Kirkland Martin (credential GO-364367A, verifiable in the ISA directory). Work is performed to ANSI A300 pruning standards and ISA best practice — the same standards a municipality or utility would hold a contractor to.
Do you handle emergency and storm-damage tree removal in Greenwood?
Yes. Storm damage and hazard trees get a same-day callback. We handle trees on structures, hung-up limbs and blocked driveways, and bring in heavy equipment when a tree cannot be safely climbed or felled.
How much does tree removal cost in Greenwood, SC?
It depends on size, access and what the tree is over. Small, open-yard removals in our area typically start around $500; large trees over houses, power drops or fences, and technical removals over structures generally run from $1,700 to $3,000 and up. Every quote is free and given in writing after we see the tree; texting photos to (864) 428-9755 gets you a faster number.
What is forestry mulching and when does it make sense?
Forestry mulching uses a compact track loader with a mulching head to grind brush, privet, sweetgum and small trees in place, leaving a mulch layer instead of burn piles or bare dirt. It is the fastest way to reclaim an overgrown lot, fence line, trail or right-of-way, and it is usually cheaper than cut-and-haul clearing.
Do you subcontract to other tree companies?
Yes. Contract climbing, operating your aerial lifts and bucket trucks, Class A CDL driving and our compact track loader with operator are all available to tree services and utility contractors by the day, the week or the job. A certificate of insurance and W-9 are issued to your company before mobilization.
